Could A Fetus Be Mistaken For A Polyp On An Ultrasound Report?

Ultrasound shows I have a polyp in my uterus. I have all the signs of pregnancy, but am bleeding every other week. Urine pregnancy tests come up neg. Could a fetus be mistaken for a polyp? A D&C is going to be preformed to remove polyp. Would hate to think that what they are removing is, in fact, a newly formed baby.

Hi,

It is not possible to mistake a polyp for a fetus on an ultrasound scan. Your pregnancy symptoms are due to anxiety.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vivek Chail, Radiologist
