Could A Hard, Painful Neck Lump With Squamous Cells In Biopsies Be Cancer?

I developed a lump on my neck about the size of a small fist and is hard as a rock and is painful. I have had 2 CT scans they said showed a lymph node. They also did 2 needle biopsys which show some squamous cells and they think it is cancer. What do you think?

Hello,

Yes, a painful hard lump on the neck is likely to be a cancer. You require a pet CT and a biopsy for initial evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
