Could A Missed Methamphetamine Shot Causing Bruising, Arm Pain, And Weakness Be Serious?

Hi i have a missed shot of meth that has caused bruising really bad. Its in my left arm on the bicep. Today it hurts to lift my arm and when i extend it it shoots pain down my back especially at the left shoulder blade and it has me feeling weak. Are there any antibiotics? Could this be more serious?

Hello,

A missed Methamphetamine injection with pain, weakness, and radiation to the back may mean infection, nerve injury, or vascular damage and can lead to a range of complications. You need medical attention immediately. Be honest with the medical staff and professionals. They are there to help you and not to judge you.

Your symptoms suggest more than just local irritation. Go to the ER, get clinically examined and evaluated by the doctor there, and allow him to detect any nerve injury, vascular injury, blood clot, infection, abscess or internal bleeding. Do not stay at home; do not try to self-treat yourself, as symptoms may get worse.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Nupur K., General & Family Physician
