Could A Mole Like Skin Tag On Labia Be Varicose Vein?

I recently saw my gynecologist who discovered a black mole looking spot on my labia. He decided it was a varicose vein and was not overly concerned. I felt some irritation this morning and looked at it again and it seems to be somewhat larger now. It is a little smaller than a pea and extends outward from the skin like a skin tag or wart would rather than being under the skin. Should I return to my dr or just assume it really is a varicose vein?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I agree with your doctor that the symptoms can be related to varicose vein. I suggest to wear tight elastic underwear with gauze or special latex rollers. I also suggest using a zinc oxide paste for local application.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
