Could A Non-calcified Lung Nodule On CT-scan Be A Sign Of Cancer?

7 months ago I had a CT of the abdomen for pain on my left upper abdomen and the CT showed a 4 mm non-calcified lung nodule.. The radiologist, my family doctor nor the pulmonologist feel that I have anything to worry about. I just had a follow up scan one week ago but have not heard back from the doctor. I am terrified I might have cancer

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

A 4 mm nodule in lung is just very small to be classified as a cancer. It must be carefully reviewed in the follow up scan. Please inform the radiologist about the earlier scan and the finding of a 4 mm nodule. Sometimes sections through normal structures like vessels and airways may show up tiny nodular lesions.
