Could A Red, Itchy Rash On My Husband S Stomach And Upper Torso Be A Side Symptom Of Diverticulitis?

My husband, age 72, has diverticulitis. He watches what he eats very carefully, but does not take any medication for the condition. Lately, he has noticed that, when he has stomach problems, he gets a red, itchy rash all over his stomach and upper torso. Is this a side symptom of the diverticulitis???
