Hello,
The symptoms are indicative of several causes, not only “severe parasite” or “fungal infection”. Apart from parasitic or fungal cause, it can be seborrheic
dermatitis,
psoriasis, eczema,
alopecia areata, etc. It can also be due to nutritional deficiencies (iron, B12, zinc, vitamin D, protein) can worsen skin and hair health. Include food rich in zinc, iron, B12, vitamin D, or take supplements. Get clinically examined by an infectious disease specialist (for parasites/fungi).
You may be referred to a
dermatologist if required. Get tests and investigations like skin scrapings / fungal culture (from scalp, nose, skin lesions), hair microscopy, stool ova and parasite test along with CBC, iron studies, B12, liver/kidney function,
thyroid tests done. You may be asked to get a biopsy of a skin lesion or affected scalp area done.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
