Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Abdominal Pain With Bloating And Dizziness Indicate Pancreatitis?
I have symptoms of what sounds like pancreatitis. I ve been feeling this pain off and on for least three weeks. It s been getting worse. I have nausea, dizziness, bloating, and pain in the URQ. When I eat anything the pain gets worse. My gallbladder and my appendix have been previously removed. I went to Urgent Care on Friday. They tokd me that I was constipated and had trapped gas, and to go home and drink Miralax with a little coconut oil in a smoothie. I did that. I was not constipated! I could take pain pills to minimize the pain but I feel very ill and cannot function otherwise.
As per my clinical experience, the acute pancreatitis do present with severe pain upper abdomen (usually epigastrium) that radiates back to upper midline with sharp cutting characteristic. This is the main concern that you are having least chances of having pancreatitis.
The pain in right upper quadrant with increase in characteristics after lunch may indicate narrowing of common bile duct, sludge in the biliary system or else common conditions after cholecystectomy procedure. In my clinic, I do recommend an expert 3 D ultrasound of the upper abdomen and pelvis with CT scan abdomen as per the requirement and results of ultrasound.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
