Could Aching Back Pain With Feeling Of Indigestion Indicate Heart Attack?

My wife has been having aching back pains all during the night stating it feels like indigestion. She has tried making herself throw up and can t get relief. My wife is 73 and has several other health issues like lower pelvic pain she is being treated for and a sore knee that is painful. My question is should we go to the ER since she feels this might be a early sign of a heart attack. Ted Frazer durham,NC

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Cardiac diseases are unlikely to produce a back ache.
Cardiac problems usually cause pain in chest region which may radiate to left upper limb.
Back ache accompanied by nausea is indicative of indigestion.
If there is accompanying acidityy and gastritis then appropriate medication can be taken for it.
Proton pump inhibitors are a group of drugs used for acidity and gastritis.
You can get a prescription from your primary healthcare provider.
In addition, a cardiac assessment and relevant investigations can be done to be done to rule out any cardiac abnormality.
Thus, consult a cardiologist for these investigations.

Thanks and take care
