Could Adenoma On Parathyroid Gland Be The Cause For Edema In Body?
I am a 59 year old female with several health problems and I am getting no where fast trying to get some questions answered. I have severe edema , so severe that I weigh 30 pounds more than I normally do. My parathyroid gland has an adenoma on in. Could this be a possible source of all this water retention? My heart is fine and has been eliminated as the source of all this water weight.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. No it don't think adenoma on parathyroid gland can be the cause for edema in body. parathyroid adenoma is a benign tumor of the parathyroid gland. It generally causes hyperactivity of parathyroid gland hence calcium levels in blood stream can get increased by inducing the bones to release calcium into the blood and the kidneys to reabsorb it from the urine into the blood.
Complications can include bone fractures and urinary calculi such as kidney stones. Fluid retention is not there. This might be result of damage to kidneys.
