Could An Irritated Knot At The Bottom Of Jaw Be Related To Smoking?

i just rubbed my face and felt a lump or could be knot on left side of my jaw at the bottom a little before my jaw curves to my ear. Hadn t noticed it all day I ve been at work till just now. Now I don t feel a pain but I can feel a little irritation. And also I don t have this in the other side of jaw. I am 27 years old. i am smoking usually 10pcs citrate every day Do have any idea what this is

As per your complain swollen and painful structure under the jaw at the point where jaw curves towards ear can be due to two reasons:
1. It can be due to a swollen lymph node secondary to infection..
2. It can also be due to obstruction in the duct of the submandibular salivary gland or due to infection in the gland..
You should get it confirmed by consulting an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
You can also be advised to get investigations done like x ray or MRI of the gland and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling and take Ibuprofen for pain..
