Could Application Of Vaseline Cause Sudden Occurrence Of White Hair-like Substance On Lips?

I put vaseline on my lips before going to bed last night because my lips were chapped, i woke up this morning and saw that there were white hair-like things around my mouth. they re not itchy or anything and not noticeable unless you clearly look at it. was they caused by putting vaseline on my lips?

Hi

Thanks for your query

Seems like you have developed blocked skin pores due to application of vaseline.
Excess application of these moisturizers especially for long periods of time at night can lead to clogging of the skin pores.
This can lead to development of things like milia and whiteheads which is happening in your case.
You should take care not to apply the cream in the surrounding area.
Also it is usually recommended not to apply anything to face at night and leave it as such.

If in case the skin lesions persist, I would advise you to visit a dermatologist for proper assessment and treatment.

Hope it helps
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
