Could Birth Control Cause Delayed Periods?

Hey I m wondering if my birth control is making my period late or if it is something else, I got my period twice in January full periods than I got it once in February a couple weeks after I had sex, we used a condom plus the birth control but in March I only got a little spotting when I should have gotten the full thing, I m getting a little worried

Hi,

If you are on progestrone only contraceptive, you are likely to have periods as you complain of. This is a side effect of the specific contraceptive. If you are on two hormone combination contraceptive and still you have irregular periods. You should get investigated for knowing exact cause and get cause specific treatment from a gynecologist.
