Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My nephew is at a local hospital and they say he has mono. One of his symptoms is blood in his urine. Does this sound like mono? He had his spleen removed at age 5 due to hereditary spherocytosis and I m concerned he may have babesiosis because he spends a lot of time in the woods hunting, etc. He also is jaundiced, dehydrated, and has abdominal pain. He has had fever and sweating since last week and another local uc said he had Ver a respiratory infection and to take advil and Tylenol. Very worried aunt who happens to be a medical technologist.
HI Well come to HCM This may not be MONO but could be some surgical condition if the haematuria is without the fever and vomiting, renal condition would be matter of concern such case history may need some investigations, in male chances of infection is very less likely, hope this information helps, take care.
