Could Bloody Mucus Be Due To Sore Throat And Stuffy Nose?
I have had bloody boogers forma few days starting Saturday. Not all the time, but more often than not, when I blow my nose, therenis a bloody booger from my left nostril. I recently had a virus, but the fever broke yesterday. I still have a sore throat and stuffed nose still. Arenthe bloody boogers just a part of the virus?
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic. I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern. This could be due to upper respiratory tract infection. During infection the mucosa will be congested so blowing nose could lead to bleeding. I recommend the following. 1) Avoid blowing nose. 2) Oxymetazoline nasal drops. Don't use this drops continuously for more than 6 days. 3) A course of antibiotics. 4) Oral decongestant like tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine. 5) Analgesic like tablet paracetamol for pain relief. 6) Salt water gargling. Add a pinch of salt to a glass of warm water. You will be fine. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help. Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
