Could Breathing Difficulty After Being Treated For Deviated Septum Be Polyp?
Dear doctor I fell from a 1 story building when I was 2 or 3 years old and growing up I found it difficult to breath with my 2 nostrils. Whenn i was much older I visited an ENT and was told I have a deviated septum. Wen I was 23yrs I wen for surgery to correct the deviated septum and was put under general Anastasia . The surgeon did not carry out the septoplasty because she said that there were so much adhersion (thicking) in the nasal area thus she could not do it. She whoever cleared the sinus es as she said. And packed my nose for 2 or 3 days. After which she removed it. I felt better generally but the deviation was still there. The deviation is such that I use one nostril to breath and after a while it will shift to the ootherr one and the open one will close. I have tried to manage it but recently I noticed that I have lost sense of smell like 75% , mocus tends to flow to my throat which I swallow, mucus is thick and yellow or whitish. I tend to have asthma, i noticed my nose area is bigger. I met an ent and he requested a ct scan of the nasal and paranasal sinuses. He is suspecting a big polyp. I do not want to go through surgry again what do I do
