Could Coccyx And Buttock Pain Be Due To Bruising Or Fracture?

I fell down the stairs today and injured my coccyx and left buttock. The pain is becoming increasingly worse, I cannot sit down or stand for very long. Is it possible that I may have broken my coccyx or just badly bruised it? Also, what are the best painkillers to take?
