Could Diarrhea, sinus Infection And Swollen Lymph Nodes Be Due To HIV Infection?

i had a one night stand about 6 weeks ago i used a latex condom correctly but as soon as i got home my penis was irratated and it kinda burned when i urinated for about 2 weeks also the same day diarrhea started well more like watery stools because i was only using the restroom once a day like i normally do but that lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. Ok now when that ended the weather changed and i always get a sinus infection when the weather changes but when i was reading up on hiv it said that it takes about 2 weeks for acute hiv symptoms to start so idk if it was the weather or im hiv positive. The more i read on it the more symptoms i try to find like my lynph nodes 1 is swollen for sure but idk if its from sickness or from me pushing on it every 5 seconds. I've lost my appetite in the mornings but its slowly getting better and my mouth waters a lot when im active but when im just sitting around its no problem. please help me i have a dr. appointment set for monday to clear things up but i cant wait

Hello dear,

First of all, HIV can not be diagnosed only on the basis of symptoms.

The chances of acquiring HIV occurs in 2 cases:
1. If your partner is affected with HIV
2. If there is any cut/raw surface in your skin/ mucosa through which the infection can spread.

If the above mentioned criteria doesn't hold true for your case, then there is no need to worry about getting HIV.

However, to relieve your concern, you can undergo certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
