Could Discontinuation Of Sprintec Have Caused Spotting And Cramping?

I ve been on sprintec for three years. Some days (not often) i forget to take it along with a few other medications. About three weeks ago I went 2 days without my pills and two days later I began spotting and had some mild cramping. I did some research and figured that it was just breakthrough bleeding since it was the time of the month i would be ovulating. The spotting coloration differed between brown and towards the end of the 5 days of spotting it went to pink and then the last two days it was brown again. The spotting ended exactly a week ago and according to my bc pills i was supposed to start my period 2 days ago (i sometimes start on different days) well I noticed last night that I was getting that brown discharge again and I m kind of worried about what s going on
