Hi Dear ,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

Self draining an abscess with a needle prick with proper septic environment is not harmful as such but it can cause septicemia.

I would suggest you not to do in future if any such condition occurs. Surgical blades under proper aseptic condition are used for this procedure which an unexperienced hand cannot use properly.

You should take antibiotics to subside that. Use finger pressure on surrounding skin to drain pus.

If your symptoms still persist and reoccur go to general physician for your condition.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well soon.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
