Could Enlarged Thyroid With Nagging Cough Be A Matter Of Concern?

Hello Sir/Ma'am,
I was sick last week and now everything is fine except for a nagging cough. I have an enlarged Thyroid but i got a blood test done a couple years ago and the doctor told me nothing was wrong. Sometimes when i cough i end up throwing up and some blood comes out with some mucus. I kind of feel it a litte difficult to breathe at times and i have lost my appetite. I dont know how serious this could be considering my thyroid. Please let me know!

Hello,
Sorry to learn about your bothersome symptoms.
Except of the blood tests, the ultrasound and the Fine needle biopsy (if nodules are confirmed in ultrasound) are helpful to give you a proper diagnosis and treatment suggestions.
Regarding to the cough with bloody sputum you should seek prompt medical seek because serious pathologies may cause it.
The cough caused by an enlarged thyroid gland is not with bloody sputum.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
