Could Extreme Exhaustion, leg And Back Pain, cramping And Thick Brown Discharge Indicate Abortion?

Hi,I am over one month late on my period. I have been feeling overwhelming exaustion for about 1 month. Although I do not have breast tenderness like my other pregnancies, I have had some excruciating foit pain especially in the ankles and swelling. Along with this I have leg and back pain. I took a cheap pregnancy test and it came back nit pregnant. I have been experiencing some pms cramping up until today. Suddenly today I felt full blown menstrual cramps. When I went to the bathroom I had brown blood on the tp. It has continued, but only see it when I wipe with tp. I came home to rest. The cramps calmed down a bit. I now go to the restroom to find a thicker gooey discharge still brown in color? When I rest things feel better. Although the cramps are still present. Two years ago I did have a miscarriage without really even knowing I was pregnant. What are your thoughts on my current situation?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to the pregnancy, hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease, or can be due to stress.
If the urine pregnancy test is negative, then the pregnancy is ruled out.
Spotting, cramps in lower abdomen and fleshy discharge can be present when the bleeding occurs after a prolonged amenorrhea.
I will suggest you to get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
