My 4 year old fell down the tree house stairs. It's about 10 ft off the ground and she fell from one of the top stairs. She had some cuts and lumps. I put ice on them and watched her. She seemed fine. This morning she was complaining of a sore neck. Now, at 1pm she has a 101 fever, but she says her neck isn't hurting anymore. Could the fever be related to the fall? Should I take her to the ER? Her dr can't see her till tmrw.
Fever could be due to stress from fall or wound infection. I would suggest you following things: > keep wound clean. > Do not touch with dirty hands > Wash with antiseptic solution and apply polyfax plus ointment > Give Syp Acetaminophen one table spoon after every 6 hrs till fever settles.
Report to hospital if: > Condition remain same after 2-3 days > Any unusual symptom appears > Condition deteriorates.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing her good health.
