Could Further Apart Of Period With Twinges In Abdomen Indicate Menopause?

Think I may be starting menopause (am47). Periods getting further apart (5 weeks) and more painful. I am having mild twinges in my abdomen on left and right side, mostly in evening but infrequent, although didn t have any at all during my period. Is this normal?

hi.

noted history of irregular menstruation. yes, at your age, it is possible that you are experiencing perimenopausal symptoms, which are normal. but it is still best for you to consult a doctor, preferably a gynecologist, for thorough physical examination and clinical evaluation, to rule out any gynecologic pathologies. diagnostics and management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
