Could Generic Medicines Lead To Side Effects Such As Anxiety Attacks?

I am a veteran that receive my medications through the VA. The VA uses generic medications and I believe that there could be a fish base dye used with the medications. When taking the meds I have side effects and now I have anxiety attacks so I don't take their meds. I have had to go to the ER during the anxiety attacks and when I have taken the meds in the past my face swells up and I have problems breathing. Could it be from taking generic medications?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

There is no difference between brand-name and generic medications for depression. Most psychiatrists readily prescribe generics as effective copies of the original, that means, both kind of drugs show same effect. In your case, side effects may be due to some other reason.

Thanks
