Could Goiter Cause Feeling Of Hair Being Stuck In Throat?

I have the feeling of a hair being stuck in my throat. I went to my ENT who did the scope procedure up my nose. He said that he did not see anything in my throat. He did prescribe ranatadine for one month thinking it may be acid reflux. That did not do anything. I called him back and he said that he could rescope me and told me that I should try taking antihistamines. That did nothing. I did not go back to have him scope again. I do have a goiter could that be the cause? My ent said no.

Hello,
Thanks for writing.
Its less likely that a goiter will cause such feeling. But if its large enough to compress ur trachea than it may irritate its mucosa and such feeling.
As ur ENT surgeon has already done a scope than I Dont see that he has missed the hair.
Its a constant feeling with acid reflux and simple ranitidine won't help.
Start taking pantaprazole with domperidone combination.
If it still do not resolve than take a second opinion and go for upper G.I.endoscopy.
I hope I answered ur queries.
Thanks
