Could Hard Lump In A Person With Pulmonary Thrombosis Be A Matter Of Concern?

My husband has a hard lump on his hip after a hard fall. I know this is common but he had pulminary thrombosis severL years ago. Should we be concerned about blood clots. He only takes aspirin at the moment no blood thinners.
What should he do or take to reduce the lump. He is very fit swims a mile a day and works out heavy but has had a heart attack several years ago and one stint.
