Could Hard Lump On Cheek Be Due To Clotting Of Blood?
I had oral surgery 2 weeks ago Tuesday. They put bone marrow in both my cheeks to get me ready for full implants. My problem is on my left side it feels like they used a corset to stitch me up. I can barely move my cheek muscles and it hurts like hell If you touch it. also from the outside it feels like a very hard marble was sewn up in there. Is this a blood clot or what? It almost looks like I had a stroke. Any advice would be welcome.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that there is hematoma formation due to surgical procedure carried out for bone grafting procedure for implant placement.. Secondly difficulty in moving the cheek muscles can be due to incision that must have extended till the cheek and it must be leading to inflammation in the area of incision and causing pain and difficulty in movement due to muscle inflammation and stiffness.. I would suggest you to apply numbing gel in the painful area inside mouth, take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do cool compresses over the cheek and also take a soft diet.. In case if condition worsen consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
