Could Headaches, Sore Throat And Chills Be Treated With Tylenol?

my son is 13 years old . he began to feel sick yesterday starting with chills, fever highest at 103.1, given tylenol around the clock he has a sore throat is still febrile and now has red spots on the roof of his mouth and yesterday had headaches when standing. what can this be

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your son's symptoms. Based on the description, the most likely diagnosis is acute pharyngitis- a throat infection.

If it is caused by viral infection, then, tylenol alone would be sufficient. However, if the cause is a bacterial infection, then, a course of antibiotics such as amoxycillin may be needed.
