Could Hearing Problem And Heart Stroke Be Correlated?

My elderly mother had a stroke 5 months ago and may have some dementia. Today she is telling me she cannot hear her voice when she talks. She is able to hear my voice when I speak to her. I s there any possibility the stroke & hearing problem are connected

It's not likely that the two are connected since this problem just began.

This could be a problem with impacted wax in her ear canals but to make sure she should have a doctor check this out
