Could Heavy And Bright Red Bleeding During Period Be Due To Ovarian Cyst?

I have not missed a period. I started my period on May 15th and continued to bleed until June 1st. Very heavy, bright red. It stopped June 1st and 2 days later started again and has been on and off since. I actually filled 3 pads with blood and clots within 10 minutes a few nights ago. My doc said that I had an Ovarian Cyst on my right ovary and had me take a blood test for pregnancy. It came back positive. I am very scared and worried about why I am bleeding this much. Could it be eptopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or because of the cyst? Please Help!!!
