Could Hiccups Be Due To Smoking Pot?

Hey, me and my mate tried pot once, we did joints, since she has done again about 5 or so more time, and she tells me she often hiccups randomly for a long time during the day about three times a week, is this because she is smoking pot? Is it a reaction?

Hiccups are a spasm of the diaphram and occur for a wide variety of reasons and mostly for no reason at all. However, irritation of the lungs affecting the diaphram is not a big stretch of the imagination. It can be a variably important/serious/concerning reaction of the airways to marijuana or, even a mild tickle could do this. Easy to tell with listening; mostly wheeze/asthma would be heard by the person having it also. Hard to tell by email, however.
