Could High BP Be Related To IBS?

Hi Dr., my wife has very high BP, typically 140/82 and sometimes 200/100. Two years ago she had IBS which sometime went away as she found Turmeric is very helpful for her stomach. Lately as she went on travel for a few days & didn t have a regular meals, it seems that her IBS is coming back,,,but this time it s much worst,,it came w/ HBP of 200/100 while she s having diarrhea..but it s in control if she takes Imodium A-D. I read that HBP is a separate condition, independent from gastritis or IBS. But for sure each time she has IBS that accompanied w/ diarrhea, she will have HBP of between 170-200 (systolic) - . She is making appointment to see the doc,. but for the time being, could you clear up the matter of our understanding. I am thinking the IBS causes diarrhea - which causes stress, and the stress causing HBP. Or that the inner layer of her stomach is damaged, so any (strange) food will cause rupture - which cause pain, and the pain (not the stress) causes HBP. We ask these questions in order to eliminate the source of HBP, if possible. Thx John
