Could High WBC Post Treatment For Diarrhea Indicate Appendix Problem?

My grand daughter has been throwing up and diahhrea for 2 days , went ER last night they put her on Iv to dehydrate her then sent her home, today she became very lethargic, stomach pain and 104.5 degree fever, so went to walkin clinic now on our way to children s hospital, said she has high white blood cell count, could it be her appendix? Something s not right, any ideas

high WBC count can not be a sure shot indicator of appendix and if your granddaughter is not feeling wel and having diarrhea than it can be a gastro intestinal infection whch can raise her WBC and can also cause fever ....if you were my patient i wil advise you to go to clinic and get it properly treated and mean while keep her hydrated and give her lots of fluid and soft diet
