Could High Bp Cause Heart Stroke?

I am 49 years old, eat primarily a vegan diet, walk 3-5 days a week at least 2-3 miles, I do not smoke, drink or do drugs. My blood pressure has been high for sometime. I started to get it down but it is back up again. Today it was 185/123, then 180/109, 175/115 a little while ago it was 180/109 again. I am concerned about strokes. I know my heart is healthy and my cholesterol is 169. Should I be worried about a stroke?
