Could History Of Dog Bite Cause Uncontrollable Utricaria?

I was bitten by a dog in 1996 and in 1998. I suffered for 15 years uncontrollable hives/urticaria. I had to have a colonscopy recently, so I drank the miralax with gatorade. since then, I have not had an outbreak in 8 weeks, where before it was daily. do you think it was a virus from the dog bites??

Hi,

There is no known direct correlation between a history of dog bites and the development of chronic urticaria. However, some studies suggest that infections such as viral or bacterial infections may trigger the onset of chronic urticaria.

It is possible that the virus from the colonoscopy preparation triggered your immune system and led to the reduction of urticaria symptoms. It is important to speak with your healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of your urticaria and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
