Could Increased Dosage Of Verapamil While On Topical Onexton Cause Flu?

I have recently been using topical onexton for acne. During the same week my doctor raised by verapamil to 300 mg as opposed to 240 mg. I have been experiencing flu like symptoms for 4 days, nausea, vomiting, bloating, etc. What is most likely causing my side effects

Hello,

* The raised dose of Verapamil do pause following effects as

- abdomen pain

- nausea and bloating

- vomiting

- hot flashes

- dizziness

- palpitation

- headache

- constipation

- swelling legs

- others

* The flu is not a commonly narrated side effect of the same.

* The topical onexton is not responsible for the above said issues as it is not getting systemic absorption.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
