Could Inflammed, Red Knuckle Of Index Finger With Itching Be Due To Insect Bite?

The lower knuckle of my index finger presents inflammation and redness; you can also see la little protuberance around, like dots, but not in a different color. It s has to bend, and tender. It also little iche. Not sure is it maybe an insect bite, or it should I seak a doctor. It does not seem to improve on these past couple of days. It looks like a bump on the knuckle area. Wierd,& not sure if I make any sense...

It can be due to an insect bite due to your description of a protuberance. These kind of bites can cause an allergic reaction to some people causing itchiness and redness. Another scenario could be an allergic reaction to something you handled in the past 24 hours. Review the things you have handled with the affected hand and try to limit your exposure to them.
