Could Intake Of Alcohol Effect The GGT And CBC Levels?
hi I have to have a ggt test done along with a cbc and liver panel. My question is will any of these be affected if I over the last six months have had about three nights of going out and drinking a little to much. maybe 5-6 drinks and a few shots. it is not something I normally do. although i do enjoy a glass of wine with friends or a beer during happy hour on occasion. but never more than 5-8 times a month
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer.
Yes it can affect and probably is since alcohol leads to liver damage and raises ggt levels. You should do liver ultrasound to rule out more serious conditions and reduce alcohol intake.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
