Could Lack Of Potassium Be Related To Kidney Problem?
My husband is being treated for High Blood pressure and for the last year he has been told to increase his potassium as well as taking a prescription for potassium. They have detected a spot inside one of his kidneys. Is it possible the lack of potassium is related to the kidney issue?

Could Lack Of Potassium Be Related To Kidney Problem?
Hello dear user of HCM! Welcome and thank you for your question! Lack of potassium may be caused by several conditions: - chronic kidneys diseases - diabetes - low potassium diet - diarrhea, vomiting - Use of diuretic drugs used to treat High blood pressure Consider the Chronic kidneys diseases and Diuretics if your husband take them for hypertension. I recommend you to consult a nefrologist to check his kidneys up and do the proper examinations and changes in treatment. I hope your husband will be fine soon! Best regards! DR ERIOL.
