Could Light Spotting Be An Implantation Bleeding?

I am currently on fertility meds metaphormin and famara. My period was supposed to start Tuesday but this mornjng I noticed some light spotting. The sporting is now just pinkish discharge. Usually my period start light few hours then heavy fellow for four days followed by light flow for two days. I m guessing this is probably just my period. But is there a chance to have implantation bleeding so close to an expected period?

Hallow Dear,

You seem to be case of anovulation due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Therefore you have been put on Metformin and Letrozole.

It is likely that you have conceived. Sometimes during pregnancy also in early months, there can be some amount of bleeding at the expected time of the menses. Some call it as implantation bleeding while some label it as placental sign. However, to label it so, you have to confirm the diagnosis of pregnancy.

You may perform pregnancy test on the overnight morning first urine sample about a week after missed period. Earlier these tests may report false negative.

Alternatively, you may opt for Beta hCG test. These tests can give reliable reports even few days before missing a period.

If your pregnancy is confirmed, you may label this episode of spotting as implantation bleeding.

I hope this helps you.
