Could Low Potassium Be The Cause For Cramps?

My husband is having problems with cramps in his extremities and we have always heard that was a sign his body was low in potassium. He does have to take a fluid pill at times due to swelling. Of course he has this problem more when he takes the fluid pill than any other time.
