Could Mold Cause Swollen Tonsils With White Spots On It?

Hi I have been living with mold in my home for about 6 months now. I woke up this morning with swollen tonsils and noticed that there were white spots on them as well. I feel drained most of the time. Do you think the mold could be causing this or is it something else?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white spots/pustules at the back of throat along with sore throat seems to be probably due to a severe case of bacterial throat infection known as Strep Throat and not mold..
White pustules are pus pockets that further confirms towards bacterial infection..

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
