Could Multiple Red, Hard, Pea Sized Bumps On Mons Pubis With Pus Be Ingrown Hair?

I have several red hard pea sized bumps on my mons pubis but no hair is growing out of them, they have pus too. I have one quarter sized red hard bump also that no hair growing out of it as well. They scab over and the skin flakes off but they have been there for almost 3 weeks now. They do it s sometimes and are not painful unless squeezed. Could this just be ingrown hairs from me plucking?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to folliculitis which is an infection of the hair follicles.

I suggest using antibacterial soap for cleaning the area.

I also recommend using Neosporin cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
