Could My Anal Discomfort Be Related To My Spine Injury Or A Worm Infection?

I m having anal stress and discomfortnes from last 5 days but no any pain. I tried to figure out the problem through my finger but I felt nothing. But I also have spine issue due to hit on the upper part of spine but I feel pain on tail bone area, this may be reason or not? And I also having worms issue, is that can be reason?

Hello,

Yes, spinal problems, especially involving the tailbone (coccyx) or lower back (lumbar/sacral spine), can cause discomfort in the anal region. The nerves of the lower spinal cord supply the rectal and anal area. If injury or inflammation is pressing on these nerves, it can cause discomfort and tingling. It can also cause issues with bowel control.

No pain is suggestive of nerve irritation and not damage. Itching or discomfort around the anus, especially at night, is suggestive of worm infestation. Get a stool test done for worms (R/E & C/S). Go to ER, get examined. You will be given deworming medication (if not already taken): Albendazole 400 mg – a single dose at night after food is helpful.

Maintain strict hygiene. Wash hands before meals and after using the toilet. Keep fingernails short. Wash your underwear daily in hot water. Soak the anal area in warm water in Sitz bath for 15–20 minutes twice a day, it will relieve discomfort from both worms and mild nerve tension. If there is pain at the tailbone, numbness, or any bladder/bowel changes, you are advised to get clinically examined by a neurologist. You may have to get an X-ray or MRI done. Avoid prolonged sitting.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
