Could My Rheumatoid Arthritis And Relief With High-dose Vitamin C Indicate A Genetic Or Metabolic Need For Higher Vitamin C?

Dear doctor, I live in Croatia, but I have an interesting health condition for which I am not able to get an explanation: I am 54 years old and I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a year ago. I had terrible moving pains: one day my ankle hurts that I can t use my leg at all, the next day my wrist hurts so much that I can t use my hand ... and so on) Laboratory findings: CCP = 59.2 kU / l (ref int Rheumatoid factor: 41.7 IU / ml (ref int 0-14) I immediately started taking Mettotrexate but my pain did not decrease. I m taking it now also. But I got a cold and used higher amounts of vitamin C. The pain vanished. I continued to drink vitamin C to the limit when I got diarrhea and it was over 20 grams of vitamin C !!!! So, I now continuously take 15-20 grams of vitamin C daily and have no pain at all. Interestingly, a few months ago my sister (aged 62) also got rheumatoid arthritis, but it was located on her ankles. She does not drink vitamin C and about 10 years ago most of her teeth fell out. (She did not suspect a lack of vitamin C because she pays attention to her diet and takes it in the recommended amounts) I m looking for advice: do we have a genetic predisposition to make very little use of vitamin C so we need to take mega doses to achieve a “normal” vitamin C concentration in the body? Do we need larger amounts of vitamin C because inflammatory processes eat it? Should I take vitamin C intravenously? Could rheumatoid arthritis have occurred due to vitamin C deficiency? Please opinion and advice Kind regards!
