Could Pain And Swelling In Abdominal Area Indicate Hernia?

I have a swelling on one side of my abdominal area above my penis, it is not sore to the touch, the only pain i am experiencing is in my lower leg and discomfort when walking. is this sign of a hernia or groin injury. i no longer play sports, as i have had both knees replaced and two yrs ago, broke my femur bone in three places due to a fall. i spend a lot of time mowing on a riding lawn mower, thats about the extent of my work these days.

Dear-thanks for using our service and will help you with my advise. You might have an inguinal hernia that is not incarcelated and that is why does not hurt. However, it is advisable to have a surgical evaluation before gets complicated. The pain that you are experiencing in the legs could be a reflex from the hernia, so it is another reason to see a general surgeon. Your prior history of broken femur and the type of work you do can produce pain in the joints from the prior surgery and development of osteoarthritis in the area.
