Could Pain Due To Runner's Knee Be A Matter Of Concern?

Hello, I am recovering from "runner's knee". For the most part, the pain has gone away, but there is still grinding underkneeth the knee cap when I bend and extend it. Also there is popping and clicking associated with it. Is this somthing to worry about? What does it mean?
