Could Pain In Chest Be Due To Spinal Stenosis?

I have been diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy with osteophytes and narrowing of the foramina from C5 to C6 and C6 to C7. Since then I got a bad cold and had violent coughing jags. The coughing has subsided a couple weeks ago, but I have chest pain on my left side below my pectoral muscle and above my abdomen (lateral chest). Could this be from the spinal stenosis, or just a pulled muscle from coughing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
May i know what's your age and what's your profession?
Do you have diabetes mellitus?

From your complaints,it seems that you have a pulled muscle from coughing.

Try these simple measures :
Take a mild analgesic for a few days,
hot fomentation and
you can also apply an ointment containing capsaicin.
These simple steps ll decrease your pain if it's due to musculo-skeletal origin.
Please review later for needful.
Rest would be very helpful, avoid sitting and working in front of the computer for long hours.
When pain subsides, you can opt for physiotherapy.
