Could Pain In Lower Jaw And On Tongue Be Symptoms Of Flu?

I have had a sore throat for about 4 days which is not worrisome to me. The odd thing is that my tongue on the right side as well as my jaw and ear on that side also hurts. It feel more like a sore muscle type of hurt but its constant. Never had my tongue jaw and ear hurt at the same time as my throat or ever actually. There is a flu virus making its way through my house, could this be a symptom of the flu or should I make a doctors appt?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain on right side of jaw along with pain in tongue and ear seems to be due to ear infection secondary to throat infection and pain in tongue and jaw can be radiating pain ear..

Secondly similar pain can be due to tooth infection..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like oral swab culture and also investigations like x ray and otoscopic examination of ear to check for ear infection can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, along with anti-inflammatory painkillers , muscle relaxant and also doing warm saline gargles can help..
In case of ear infection Otogesic ear drops and antibiotic ear drops can help..
